Because most lost cats can be found \u2014 as long as you act quickly and correctly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Nhung_viec_khan_cap_can_lam_trong_12_gio_dau\"><\/span>Urgent things to do in the first 12 hours<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the \u201cgolden window.\u201d I know you\u2019re shaky right now, but just follow each step one by one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2714 Check as many cameras as possible<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cameras in your house, the gate, neighbors\u2019 houses, nearby shops.<br>Thanks to the cameras, I figured out which direction my cat ran, which saved a ton of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2714 Go outside and call for your cat immediately<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cats usually stay within a 50\u2013200m radius in the first hours.<br>Walk slowly, call softly, and bring a food container to shake. Don\u2019t shout \u2014 it\u2019ll scare them and make them hide deeper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2714 Ask people around your area<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The owner of store who wakes up at 5 AM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Motorbike drivers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Houses at the entrance of the alley<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone could be the last person who saw your cat when they went missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Viec_can_lam_trong_24_gio_dau\"><\/span>What to do in the first 24 hours<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2714 Distribute flyers around the area where your cat went missing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I gave flyers to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the b\u00e1nh m\u00ec lady who wakes up early<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>motorbike drivers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>neighbors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>people who often pass by the alley entrance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Your flyer must include: a clear photo \u2013 the time your cat went missing \u2013 phone numbers \u2013 a clear reward.<br>If you\u2019re willing to offer a higher amount, just write it directly (for example 5 million or 8 million). He was stuck somewhere and couldn\u2019t get out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use this: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qPvDmoJZKMA&amp;pp=ygUcdGnhur9uZyBn4buNaSBtw6hvIMSRaSBs4bqhYw%3D%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cat calling sound.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2714 <\/strong>Check areas where cats or dogs are gathered or kept<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In many places, there are specific spots where stray cats and dogs are gathered. Ask locals \u2014 they might know these locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You should also look into slaughterhouses or places that buy stolen cats and dogs. If you search early enough, you might still be able to get your cat back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some slaughterhouse locations in \u0110\u00e0 N\u1eb5ng:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On T\u00f4n \u0110\u1ea3n, I saw many cats and dogs kept there \u2014 more than 30 animals every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At 1015 T\u00f4n \u0110\u1ea3n, there\u2019s a nh\u1eadu restaurant; opposite it is a sugarcane juice stall. Inside, there are two houses. The slaughterhouse is the last one.\nThey usually ship the cats out the same day, or within 2 days at most. So if your cat goes missing at night, you must search the next morning, because by the afternoon they will be shipped out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Dung_mui_de_dan_meo_ve_nha\"><\/span>Using scent to guide your cat home<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2714 Spread your cat\u2019s litter at the door<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your cat\u2019s litter has a familiar scent. It works like a \u201cscent GPS,\u201d helping your cat find the way home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2714 Spread litter along the paths your cat might have taken<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I used camera directions and the spots where I heard him meowing to place the litter.<br>Result: he was able to track the scent and returned close to home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2714 Search with friends<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking for a cat is more effective at midnight. Going alone can be dangerous and stressful. A small team is both safer and less stressful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Nho_meo_khac_giup\"><\/span>Getting help from other cats<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Show your cat\u2019s photo to neighbor cats and \u201cask\u201d for help.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It sounds a bit mystical, but many cats have been found this way.<br>Two years ago, a neighbor cat actually led my old cat back home after three days of being lost. Cats really do have their own \u201csocial network.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you see a cat outside, greet it and, if possible, offer some food. Once you\u2019re friendly, show the cat your lost cat\u2019s photo and \u201cask\u201d it to help find your cat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"De_phong_lua_dao_khi_mat_meo\"><\/span>Avoiding scams when your cat is missing<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve encountered two types:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u274c The \u201ccat in a cage\u201d scam<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They use AI to put your cat\u2019s photo in a cage and claim it\u2019s about to be \u201cslaughtered.\u201d<br>The goal: force you to transfer money as ransom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They\u2019ll make excuses like the cats or dogs were stolen, so they can\u2019t meet in person. They won\u2019t send extra videos or a specific address. Then they give you a contact of an accomplice for you to reach out to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>How to avoid being scammed:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Google the phone number \u2192 you\u2019ll often find posts exposing scams.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check the number on \u201cTrang Tr\u1eafng\u201d (White Pages) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trangtrang.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cTrang Tr\u1eafng\u201d (White Pages) \u2013 trace phone numbers and detect scam calls.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Read about common lost cat scams in lost pet groups, on TikTok, or Google to recognize and prevent them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Two scam numbers I encountered:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>0912499461<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>0936648849<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cach_de_meo_khong_bao_gio_di_lac_nua\"><\/span><strong>How to make sure your cat never gets lost again<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2714 Attach an AirTag or tracking tag<br>\u2714 Implant a microchip to verify ownership<br>\u2714 Install cameras inside the house and at the gate<br>\u2714 Close doors carefully, especially at night<br>\u2714 Train your cat to respond when called<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prevention is always easier than cure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re dealing with a lost cat, I completely understand the feeling: panic, exhaustion, emptiness.<br>But don\u2019t give up.
